Färg & Blanche

BY FREDRIK FÄRG

Fredrik Färg, Designer, Färg & Blanche speaks about his and Emma Marga Blanche studio Färg & Blanche in Stockholm. They work with furniture and art projects - projects concerning crafts and innovation. They're pushing the limits of what you can do with differnet materials.

Fredriks presentation is about sewing machines. Färg & Blanche wanted to do something new, something that the industry didn’t do. They used their hands and the making of the hand. They did something that nobody belived they could manage, to stitch in wood.

BY BURKE BREWER
@ VOL 20 ON AUG 18, 2016

In Size Doesn’t Matter When You Make Your Own Clothes at PechaKucha Night Knoxville Vol. 20, Owner Burke Brewer shares how sewing transformed her love of her body, forced her to consider the consequences of buying clothing, and finally why everyone should take up the art of garment sewing.

Modern Seamstress was created to empower women - to teach them to love their bodies and delight in dressing their bodies. Women fight a war every day for healthy body image, and most of the stress comes from the fashion industry and mass produced clothing.
