This is the first volume in Rio. For that reason, we are working hard to have a very special evening and a careful curatorship. The theme will be "Tecnomacumba contra o exu da ignorância". "Macumba" is how we call the magic rituals by the african-brazilian religions. An exu is a lower level spirit that has to help people so it can evolve and ascend. We know, it sounds very specific. But the reason for this is that we have a lot of people using technology to produce magic and empower society. Brian Eno once said there was not enough Africa in computers. We will prove him wrong :) We will have 12 speakers showing how technology can be used to hack public policy, urban planning, social exclusion, religion, music, rural areas and even aesthetic standards -- the ultimate hacking agenda!
