March Event Postponed

Just a quick note saying we are rescheduling our March PKN vol. 14 event. Stay tuned!

Call for Talks

Hi everyone & welcome to a new exciting year!

Our call for talks for PechaKucha Night Vol. 14 is open!

"HOPE" is our theme for PechaKucha Night Vol.14. This theme asks you to think about HOPE. What gives you hope. How can you give hope to others. Maybe you've been thinking about new ideas and hope for healthcare, reinvention, world issues, education, food, or aging? It could be an idea about a new phone app, community initiative, product design, a discussion of tried yet failed ideas, or a crazy idea for the future. This call ends Feb. 28th at midnight.

Review selection criteria, FAQs and presenter guidelines on our website prior to submitting. See our PKN vol.13 videos and visit our city page on PechaKucha Global.

Please forward this email to a friend, or three, right now!

PKN Raleigh's PK Mix

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LJBxW5RE_Lg In the run up to the Global Cities Week, we suggested to organizers that they try doing a "PechaKucha Mix" presentation -- a format made popular at PechaKucha Nights in Fresno, in which volunteers get on stage and react to 20 images -- and here's a look at the PK Mix that was part of PKN Raleigh Vol. 10 (which was a GCW event).

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=amCOATXoEgk We see these "How you do say PechaKucha?" videos every once in a while, and they're always fun. Here's one that was recorded at Raleigh's PechaKucha Night Vol. 8 in September of last year.

Raleigh is taking part in our Global Cities Week, with its PechaKucha Night Vol. 10 set for February 22, and taking place at The Union. Check the event page later as it gets updated with the list of presenters, but you'll also find them listed on the poster above.

PechaKucha Night Raleigh starts off SPARKcon with an awesome ideaSPARK event. This sold out event (260 registered people!) and much anticipated event will take place at the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences on Thursday, September 15th. Doors open at 5:40pm and the show begins at 6:40pm. The evening will showcase over 13 different presenters, all chosen for their enthusiasm about their topic and willingness to share ideas benefiting our community. As with all good PechaKucha Nights there will be plenty of chit-chat within a casual atmosphere and of course a liberal amount of beer and wine. Our shows are open to all ages, but some material may not be suitable for young children.
