GONZALO HERRERO DELICADO (Cáceres, *1986) is a Spanish architect, curator, writer and consultant of contemporary architecture and design based in London. Trained in architecture at University of Alicante and Polytechnic University of Madrid [ETSAM], after working in Paris, in 2013 he moved to London to start working as curator of The Architecture Foundation, being in charge of its public programme. In 2014 he started an independent path and is currently working as curator in a wide range of projects including a major architecture and design conference and exhibition in London for 2015 aside from other projects for AlJazeera English, Spain (NOW!) or the MMOD festival. His curatorial portfolio includes projects for the Mies van der Rohe Foundation, Barcelona, Barbican Centre, London, TATE, London, the Lisbon Architecture Triennale, Lisbon, PechaKucha Night, Murcia, KIA Korean Institute of Architects, Seoul, or the music festival SOS4.8, Murcia. Since 2007 is Spanish correspondent of the magazine A10 new European architecture and his writings have been published in some of the world's most authoritative international architectural magazines including Domus, Abitare, Neo2, Mark or Blueprint amongst others. In his architectural designing practice he has collaborated with Lacaton & Vassal Architectes, Paris, Arquitecturas Torres Nadal, Alicante, bestBefore, Murcia, or the organization ISoCaRP, Barcelona, et al. Since 2012 he is part of the board of experts / nominators for the European Union Prize Mies van der Rohe. He has also been guest critic at the Architectural Association School of Architecture, London, the Vilnius Academy of Arts and The Bartlett, London, and given lectures in Milan, Glasgow, Venice, London, Rotterdam, Santander or Alicante amongst others. Gonzalo Herrero has written more than a hundred of pieces that have been published in a number of international medias and is regular contributor of A10, Domus, Abitare, Neo2 or Mark amongst others. His writings are mainly focused on the analysis of young contemporary European architecture.
Maria Jose is a Seoul-based architect, curator and researcher. Since 2007 she is director of magicarch and co-director at DOT Agency for Architectural Affairs since 2010. Architect by the University of Alicante with Honors Cum Laude in her final project, and a Master in Advanced Architecture by Polytechnic University of Madrid [ETSAM]. As professor she currently teaches own her own unit of Architectural Design at Soongsil University in Seoul. Previously she was visiting teacher at AA School of Architecture in London in 2012, lecturer at Iñaki Ábalos Unit at Polytechnic University of Madrid [ETSAM] in 2011, visiting teacher at Vertical Workshop of ESARQ International University of Catalonia in Barcelona in 2011 and Assistant Professor at the School of Architecture of the University of Alicante from 2008 to 2011. She works as a correspondent and consultant of international architecture, at specialized magazines and blogs such as ‘DOMUS’, ‘Neo2’ ‘A10 New European Architecture’, ‘Abitare’ and 'Mark' magazines or ‘edgargonzalez.com’ blog. In her curatorial practice she has organized several exhibitions and events for KIA Korean Institute of Architects in Daejeon and Seoul (2012), Korean Institute of Youth Facilities and Environment in Daegu -South Korea- (2012), Contemporary Art Centre La Conservera in Murcia -Spain- (2012), XIII Venice Architecture Biennale -Italy- (2012), International Festival of Sustainable Actions SOS4.8 in Murcia -Spain- (2012), Official Architects Association of Murcia -Spain- (2012), Official Architects Association of Alicante -Spain- (2012), the III International Architecture Biennale Rotterdam -Netherlands- (2006), the VIII Venice Architecture Biennale -Italy- (2002) or the Oriente > Architecture Gallery in Murcia, the first architecture gallery in Spain, where currently she works as curatorial manager since 2010. Her firm magicarch works as a nomadic platform in order to create cultural and architectural agitation. In 2008 she founded together with Gonzalo Herrero Delicado DOT … Agency for Architectural Affairs, a commitment to the dissemination and critique of contemporary culture and architecture, located indefinitely among Murcia, Madrid and Paris. She has collaborated with the firm XPIRAL during 8 years. During her short career she has received several awards such as the selection for the III Biennial of Spanish Architecture in 2008, the 1st prize in the IV Architecture Competition SCHINDLER, the Education Award for Young Entrepreneurs of the Valencia Government and she was shortlisted at ONE PRIZE in New York in 2011.
