Steve and Nick gave this PechaKucha at Vo.16 in London and in just over 6 minutes they share tales of how their lives,  experiences and passion have morphed into their newest venture - Vollebak, a clothing brand making the most advanced sports gear in the world for extreme sports athletes! And by extreme they have really fone for it and their clothing is EXTREMELY EXTREME! Like falling on a rock at 120 kilometres an hour! All we can say is WOW!

Darling Vintage

Rachel Hurley Harlan was born and raised in Sioux Falls, SD. She grew up loving fashion and having a strong affinity for art. She met husband in 2008, and the couple traveled around the country for several years, including living in California in 2012. They moved back to Sioux Falls to be closer to their families, and to establish roots for Darling Vintage. Rachel currently resides in Sioux Falls with her husband and three spunky puppies.

Brigid KO Designs

Designer Brigid Oesterling of BrigidKO creates couture costuming and clothing made primarily from innertubes and recycled materials. Her focus has been to use innertubes from cars, motorcycles and bicycles. Not your typical recycled-wear, the recycled rubber material often has a leather look which the designer masterfully balances with other materials, often masking the identity of the innertube. Her work is innovative and, these unique pieces are both delicate and bold.

Wearable Technology for All

Jensin Wallace relates her trip to Slovenia to collaborate with a man suffering from tetraplegia to create custom smart clothing to assist him on a day to day basis - all controlled by his cell phone! Wow!

Jensin was trained as textile textile designer at the Rhode Island School of Design and experimented with how to make sound and emotions tangible. After getting some experience in the luxury fashion industry, she went back to school and received a Masters of Design focusing in fashion and technology. Currently she works as a sweater technical designer for a high end women's label in NYC.

This was "PechaKucha of the Day" on Monday, November 9th, 2015.

Vintage London
