Jumpin' Joe!

BY FRANCIS JOSEPH GAGNEPAIN IV
@ VOL 2 ON FEB 29, 2016

Francis Joseph Gagnepain IV—simply Joe to the world at large, the “Joe” in Art by Joseph—is a full-time, freelance artist since his years at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. A prodigy of sorts, Joe was doing life drawing as early as junior high school in St. Charles, Illinois. He loves painting. Joe’s fine art and commercial work appears in homes and businesses throughout the area. Residents and visitors are apt to encounter his public art, including murals and unleashed bulldogs—and, of course, his awesome truck—where they least expect it. Joe loves sculpture, as well, which he creates from bicycle parts, wood, found objects, ice, and snow.
