Presentations Duante Beddingfield is a local writer whose work can be found in the Dayton Daily News and on the Welcome Dayton website. With his presentation (from PKN Dayton Vol. 10), Duante hopes to help guide us towards a post-racial America, by going through the "dos" and "don'ts" of having a black friend. Beatrice Moretti and Paola Sabbion are architects from URBAN LAB. In this presentation (in Italian, from PKN Genoa Vol. 1), they cover a project called the new City Urban Planning. The project involved the announcement of the Genoa Urban Plan 2010 through the publication of the Urban Lab Notebooks, and the staging of the exhibition "Genoa Today, Genoa Tomorrow" in December 2011, an extraordinary instrument of participation and opportunity for discussion. Posters Today's addition to the Tumblr blog is the poster you see above, for PKN San Juan (in Argentina) Vol. 7. It was designed by Francisco Riveros of Mundo Estudio. Photos We'll hopefully have more to share in the coming days, but for now here's a peek (above) at what the recent PKN Innsbruck Vol. 1 looked like -- and the event poster was posted to our Tumblr blog prior to the event. Calendar Tonight (July 19) we have St. Albert's first PKN, and there's a special edition PKN in Chicago. Tomorrow, it's Tijuana's turn to host its very first PKN, while Waterville has its Vol. 8.

Presentations HP Kuhnert went on a hiking trip to the Himalayas in Nepal, and in this richly illustrated presentation (in German, from PKN PKN Aalen Vol. 4) he shares his travel experiences and his impressions from a country that is so very different. The photos will make you want to experience these beautiful landscapes first-hand. "Bechos" means "single and with children," but it's also a social meeting platform for single parents on the internet. In this presentation (from PKN Istanbul Vol. 14), Yersu Kalaba shows how it is being used to share ideas and problems that relate to being single with children, and how it is developing through its members. Posters We have a few new posters on the Tumblr blog today, starting with the poster you see pictured above designed by Michelle Hanevold, for the upcoming PKN Bemidji Vol. 13. Today's additions also include PKN Innsbruck Vol. 1 and PKN Mendoza Vol. 5. Photos You all know about the PechaKucha Night city loop, right? It's the slideshow of photos from different PKN cities that plays at all PKNs (before the start, during the break, and after it's all over), and it gets updated with new cities when we receive our first photo from one of their events. Pictured above is a peek at last week's PKN Ornskoldsvik Vol. 1, and that's the photo that we're including in the next update to the city loop. Calendar Today's (June 19) events are PKN Usti nad Labem Vol. 2 and PKN San Diego Vol. 15. Tomorrow, look for the following PKNs: PKN Risor Vol. 2, PKN Glasgow Vol. 8, and PKN Brighton Vol. 15.

Presentations Konstantin Ronikier is the organizer of PKN Innsbruck and in this presentation (in German, from PKN Salzburg Vol. 12) he talks about a new cultural center in the center of Innsbruck. Konstantin was in charge of renovating the previous building into a space where people could meet, discuss, and produce events. Richard Wilshusen is an archeologist, and in this presentation (from PKN Longmont Vol. 6) he explains the material culture of baskets and pots. He explores the idea that the functionality behind the basket evolved in the design of ceramic pots. Posters and flyers Today's new poster addition to the Tumblr blog comes our way from Gisborne, with the city's Vol. 9 happening this coming Friday (June 22) -- the event will take place at the Dome Cinema. Here's a peek at the new flyer series that we're launching here in Tokyo for our PKN series -- with our next event, Vol. 93, happening on June 27. The photography is by Michael Holmes, the design by Luis Mendo, and we plan on producing more flyers that follow the same "jump" motif. Calendar There's one PKN happening tonight (June 18), and it's a Vol. 1, in the city of Launceston. Tomorrow, you can look forward to the following two events: PKN Usti nad Labem Vol. 2 and PKN San Diego Vol. 15.
