  • Mona Cummings

    Mona Cummings has over 20 years of experience, working in philanthropy, recruitment, team management, and capacity building. Mona’s first experience in Africa was as a Peace Corps Volunteer, serving two years on the island nation of São Tomé and Príncipe (1994-96), where she became an integral member of an international team of biologists focused on the establishment of Obo National Park. She later spent 5 years as a recruiter for the San Francisco Regional Peace Corps Office, afterwards serving as a Crisis Corps Volunteer with Gorongosa National Park in Mozambique (2010). Since that time, Mona has worked in major gifts fundraising, strategic partnership development, and community awareness in support of education, agriculture, and nutrition. Mona is currently growing a social media brand called "BantingUSA," which offers support to people shifting to a "real foods" lifestyle. Mona holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology, a Master of Arts in Public Administration, is an ACE Certified Personal Trainer, and teaches cooking classes, as well as indoor cycling (spinning). Mona Cummings lived in Harare for 3 years, where she served as the City Coordinator for PechaKucha from 2015-2016. She now helps to support PK, as part of the Harare PK Committee, while residing in Fresno, California.
