PechaKucha is Grand and Rapid in Grand Rapids

The latest edition of PechaKucha night in the rip-roarin' Michigan city of Grand Rapids (Vol. 6) came and went, and a quick recap of the night was recorded in The Rapidian.

Here's a small tidbit from the article:

Humorous and serious, honest and ultimately real, PKGR provides neutral ground, an environment where any one of us can share our passions, our stories or a little bit of ourselves. PKGR also gives the audience the opportunity to discover the unknown, rethink the familiar and to get lost in the story.

Because when it really comes down to it, life is all about the stories.

We couldn't have said it better ourselves. Check out the full article here.

PKN Tokyo Vol. 96 What a NIGHT! Yesterday's Tokyo Designers Week edition (PKN Tokyo Vol. 96) was a huge success, with a crowd that filled up the TDW Dome (close to 1000), and a lineup of presenters that inspired the crowd from start to finish. Over the coming days we'll be sharing more photos from the event, as well as most of the presentations online. PKN Pittsfield Vol. 3 Presentations In his presentation (from PKN Pittsfield Vol. 3), Geeg Wiles tell the story of Ahab, a short sailor-wannabe-pirate who goes from lawn ornament to motivational traveler. Do people piss you off? Do you piss off people? Here's a presentation (from PKN Grand Rapids Vol. 4) by Charlie Wolborg that tackles this odd -- and yet fun -- topic. PKN Vancouver Vol. 24 Posters We have two new additions to the Tumblr blog today, starting with the poster for the upcoming PKN Vancouver Vol. 24, pictured above. Also new on the blog is the poster for PKN Perth Vol. 11. Calendar We kick off November with tonight's PKN Bucharest Vol. 10, and then tomorrow it's on to these four events: PKN New Plymouth Vol. 6, PKN Plzen Vol. 3, PKN Loviisa Vol. 6, and PKN Sarajevo Vol. 3.

PKN Grand Rapids Vol. 2 Lindsay Hoyt has a collection of 365 cards, one for each day of the year. Watch her presentation (from PKN Grand Rapids Vol. 2) to learn more about this intriguing series.  Martín Rios produces flyers and imagery for local electronic music artists and events, and in this presentation (in Spanish, from PKN Mendoza Vol. 3) he shares some of his favorite works.

Hysterically Historical Bud Roegee's favorite sport is baseball, and in "Hysterically Historical," that's the context in which he walks us through the history of the city of Grand Rapids. It was recorded at PechaKucha Night in Grand Rapids Vol. 2.

The Beard David Foster is a creative from West Michigan, and as you'll see in his hilarious presentation, he's got a thing for beards. Let him guide you through the complexities of beards in today's society. It was recorded at PechaKucha Night in Grand Rapids Vol. 2.
