About the City's Organizers
Molly is a freelance copywriter, proofreader, and graphic designer, with a bachelor’s degree in English and creative writing from Michigan State University. Soon, she will start her own business designing stationery, invitations, and paper goods that make people feel happy and inspired. Molly is a word nerd and a recurring daydream of hers is to walk around a city with a big red marker, fixing all the tiny errors that clutter daily life. She lives in Grand Rapids with her boyfriend and a very nice garden.
With roots in music and graphic design, as well as leadership in a large corporate chain, Dan now makes a living as an energetic photographer. He casts a wide net with his photography, ranging from couples on their wedding days and seniors who want to look natural and comfortable, to corporations looking for polish and perfection. Joining with his older brother, Rob, two years ago in the PechaKucha Night, Grand Rapids organization has lead to motivate, inspire, enrich, and diversify Dan's life as he has spearheaded all things technology- and design-related through the first five volumes, as well as sharing the emcee role.
Jason is interested in too many things, but if he had to choose, he’d narrow it down to social media, business, event planning, and psychology. He runs a side business called ENTRPRSR, loves being a goofball and a dork, and is a hockey fanatic. Jason’s philosophy is helping others and paying it forward (also known as “being polite.”)
Larysa is a category marketing program manager for Herman Miller, supporting the company’s Global Seating initiatives. She has a bachelor’s degree in business administration, with a focus in marketing from Walsh College. Through her work at Herman Miller, Larysa became interested in and involved with PechaKucha Night, Grand Rapids. She has been a core member of the planning committee as project manager. Larysa resides with her husband, Craig, and dog/bear, Maya, in Allegan, Mich.
Nicole is a multi-disciplinary student of life. She is a communicator, visually, verbally and non-verbally. She found her way at Western Michigan University with the help of some outstanding people. Currently she gets to go to work as an in-house graphic designer at Gordon Food Service. At the end of the day, She'd like to be sitting in the sun sippin’ a cold one talking about how great life is.
I'm a Graphic Designer working at Grand Valley State University. I have lived in Grand Rapids for the past 3 years and I really enjoy the art community. I also love involving myself in different types of organization and events around the city. If I had a celebrity personality doppelganger it would be Mindy Kaling.
Fueled by beef jerky and chocolate milk, David Foster is an industrial designer and communicator who enjoys dabbling in a little of everything; research to writing, visual to textual, he finds it all interesting – and fun.
