«Architecture is not a work. It’s a hobby» – claims architector Yevgeny Vasilyev, who analyzed the stories of his colleagues, – «And my conclusion is: take care of your team; ask for payment, but consider your possibilities; you should like your clients and result of your work; do your job well. And, please, get enough sleep!»
«Many images are clear at first sight», – considers graphic artist Oleg Semak, who creates detailed drawings, – «But I want my works to make people come closer and find new worlds and histories».
«The idea is a puzzle which consists of parts you can’t even grasp. So it happened to me», – recalls Dmitry Kopatsky, who created «Smoky Wheels» Revolutionary Mug, – «So, often ideas just soar above us and we only need to notice and embody them».
«We want to change the view on the urbanism», – declare architect students Denis Zhdanov and Anastasia Kondratieva, who presented the project «KievApartment», – «City division on the parts of the apartment and it’s visualization allows to perceive Kiev as a guest, not tourist, and feel more comfortable. It is important for noisy managing megacities».
Graffiti artist Valeriy aka Zdes Roy has a message: «No matter what you draw. Matter that you want to draw». And adds: «If you want to achieve your goal – act all the time, don’t be afraid of challenges and develop yourself».
«After bad business, I was standing in front of a huge choice: what to do and where to work?» – says industrial designer Gleb Badanov, who founded his own handmade wooden accessories and packaging biz, – «And I decided to act. I have explored this industry by myself and today result is what I can be proud of».
«Don’t think that important things can’t come to you from trifles» – advises Tanya Barvinkova who once got invitation to the Lomography festival and fallen in love with this art, – «Catch opportunities to make your life better and add bright colors even in small things».
«I want to talk about the quaint design decisions in everyday life and the power of combs» – began architecture teacher Ivan Maslennikov, – «I notice thing’s new life on the streets, in public transport etc. And I realized that entire world is a great design company with the motto "Fast. Cheap. Functionally." We all are designers when we solve problems, and every little thing can become an occasion to create something new».
«What can you do with nothing?» – asks designer of wedding and evening dresses Elena Kondratova, – «For me nothing was a huge motivator. From a little girl, I grew up into beautiful successful woman and made it by myself».
Architecture students Alyona Fedorenko and Inga Kompaniets have a loaded question: «Does Dnipropetrovsk has it’s face?». Hard to answer, because this city is full of experiments and mixed styles. «That’s why we decided to compare it with salad "Caesar" – so different ingredients and so "juicy” result! We live in an extraordinary varied city, which is still open to newness».
