Pecha Kucha Columbus will present its next event on Thursday, November 8 at artist community 400 West Rich in Franklinton (400westrich.com). Festivities kick off at 7:00 p.m. with live music by Sean Gardner (Winter Makes Sailors) and presentations begin at 7:30. Each speaker will follow the international Pecha Kucha format of showing 20 images and speaking about each image for 20 seconds. Presenters include architect Michael Bongiorno with DesignGroup; Eriyah Flynn from Vegan Connection; Catherine Girves of Pedal Instead; poet Paula Lambert; rogue comedian Jay Schmidt; and Amy Spears from Ohio Roller Girls. Pecha Kucha is about sharing passion and creativity, and is not a forum for sales pitches, commercial presentations, or self-promotional material. This event will run in tandem with the November Mixer for the Central Ohio Chapter of the American Planning Association, a nonprofit organization that advances the art and science of good planning by creating strong communities. The Cheesy Truck, Swoop! and Red Hot Food Truck will sell delicious food and refreshments, hosted by Dinin’ Hall — a unique and innovative street food hub located at the southeast corner of 400 West Rich. Be sure to arrive hungry. THOUGHTco will screen print T-shirts for guests throughout the evening ($5 for shirts brought from home and $12 to buy a new one). Scott Vayo will deejay the event. Dancing is welcome! The suggested donation is $2 per person, to offset the cost of running Pecha Kucha Columbus. Attendees are encouraged to bring folding chairs. Free parking is available in the lot just east of the building and along Lucas Street. Visit http://bit.ly/9clNb2 for a map of 400 West Rich. Carpooling is encouraged.
