PKN Plzen Vol. 1 Presentations In this presentation, part of a special PKN event in Miami (Vol. 14) that dealt with sustainability and the environment, Roz Gatewood introduces EnergyGlass, a type of window that can produce heat. This presentation (in Czech, from PKN Plzen Vol. 1) by Laco Tousek is about social exclusion and spatial segregation, and the social anthropologist's point of view on sharing urban spaces. Who wants to kill the street? Developers, politicians, and architects -- they are the creators of the barriers between people interaction. Using several samples of high valued architecture projects from all over the world, he portrays architecture as a killer of public spaces. PKN Bogota Vol. 9 Posters There are no new additions to the Tumblr blog today, so instead we highlight one of our recent uploads, in this case the poster you see above for PKN Bogota Vol. 9, happening on October 12.  Video The video above was produced by PKN Catania has a "happy birthday" message to PKN Tokyo a few months ago (when we were celebrating our 9th anniversary), and it's fantastic.   Calendar Tonight (September 26) we have our PKN Tokyo Vol. 95 at SuperDeluxe, where PK was born, as well as the following events: PKN Glasgow Vol. 10, PKN Skovde Vol. 9, PKN Lille Vol. 1, PKN Coventry Vol. 10, and PKN Providence Vol. 42. Tomorrow is another big night: PKN St. Louis Vol. 10, PKN Leeds Vol. 13, PKN Logrono Vol. 7, PKN Guatemala City Vol. 2, PKN Vigo Vol. 1, PKN Santa Barbara Vol. 5, PKN Varberg Vol. 3, PKN Vladimir Vol. 8, PKN Portsmouth Vol. 12, and PKN Hanoi Vol. 5.

PKN Barnsley Vol. 4 Presentations João Nunes is an architect, and in this presentation (in Italian, from PKN Catania Vol. 10) he talks about the challenges involved in working with landscapes. This usually means having to balance elements such as time, conditions, and the type of terrain, along with very different materials. In "A Rough Guide to Wakefield Kirkgate" (from PKN Barnsley Vol. 4), Sharon Shepherds shares a few ideas on what could be done to make the historic Wakefield Kirkgate station look better. PKN Manizales Vol. 3 Posters We've got two new additions to our Tumblr blog, including the poster for PKN Manizales Vol.  3 you see pictured above, as well as the two sides of the PKN San Antonio Vol. 6 flyer. PKN Hanoi Vol. 1 Photos We have quite a few photo galleries to share with you today, some from PKNs that happened a while ago (so not necessary from a city's latest volume). Pictured above, PKN Hanoi Vol. 1.

PKN Gothenburg We shared a report by PKN Gothenburg organizer Jesper Larsson recently (about the city's recent Vol. 31), and here's a follow-up on the topic of instant inspiration:

Sometimes inspiration travels fast. The day after PKN Gothenburg Vol. 31, presenter and sushi chef José Seruda went out in the city to find edible ingredients inspired by Klara Hansson who presented about "The edible city" the same night, and during the beer break served up a 'Kokoro salad' based on wild city plants. José's own hunt resulted in a brand new starter dish using Daisy, Garlic-mustard flower and Dandelion Leaf served as part of the omakase offering the same night at his restaurant Hoze. I'm guessing it's this kind of passion for experimentation with ingredients and flavors that might be the reason many consider Hoze one of Sweden's best sushi restaurants. Below is a video of Klara going hunting for wild plants in Gothenburg city on a previous occasion and within 30 minutes serving up a fresh mushroom salad. How has a PechaKucha presentation inspired you?

Calendar As we covered yesterday, tonight's (Wednesday, May 23) calendar includes PKN Prague Vol. 29, PKN Ekaterinburg Vol. 3, PKN Leksand Vol. 4, and PKN Copenhagen Vol. 20. Tomorrow is a big Thursday (May 24), with the following events on tap: PKN Istanbul Vol. 14, PKN Seattle Vol. 35, PKN Helsinki Vol. 21, PKN London Vol. 6, PKN Kosice Vol. 18, and PKN Yerevan Vol. 16.

We're trying something a bit different today, and instead of producing a few separate posts, we're creating a one-stop post with all of the day's news and interesting links. Do let us know what you think. Emanuele Fidone Presentations First off, of course, comes the presentations. As we've been doing lately, we've added two new presentations: Hear Emanuele Fidone cover key aspects of architecture as he shares his works (in Italian, from PKN Catania Vol. 10), or let Peter Harris guide you through the inner workings of zen (from PKN Waterville Vol. 6). And if you've been wondering just how global our presentations are, this page should clue you in -- we have 63 cities represented, with of course new cities sending us presentations every day. PKN Coruna Vol. 6 Posters And you do remember about our fantastic PKN poster Tumblr, right? Every single poster we receive from our global organizers goes up there, and today's additions includes posters/flyers for PKN Coruna Vol. 6, PKN Rockford Vol. 1, PKN Nishinomiya Vol. 12, and PKN Sacramento Vol. 17. Links There's also been some great PechaKucha chatter around the net, and here are a few links that we'd like to share today (and we'll be sharing more links like this on a regular basis, so keep the coverage coming):

Calendar Here's wishing you a fantastic weekend, and don't forget to check the PechaKucha calendar to find out what PechaKucha Night you can attend over the next few days (hint: we're in Cleveland, Ferrol, Guatemala City, Lausanne, Manizales, and Bandung tonight, and in Springfield, MO and Helsinki tomorrow).

Computer Graphic Character Design In "Computer Graphic Character Design," a group of students (Reibe Studios) from computer science and fine arts departments share with us the methodologies they apply to the creation of characters in computer graphic design, and how they produced two short films. The presentation was recorded at PechaKucha Night in Catania Vol. 11, and is in Italian.

PKN Catania Vol. 11 Here's a look at PechaKucha Night in Catania Vol. 11, which was held last month at Zo Centro Culture Contemporanee -- there's more to see in this Flickr photoset. Please note that Catania will be taking part in our Global Cities Week, with the date yet determined. More...

Flyer for PKN Catania vol. 11 PechaKucha Night in Catania Vol. 11 happens tonight (Tuesday, December 20) at Zo Centro Culture Contemporanee, and here's a look at the wonderful flyers that were produced for the event. The theme for the night is "design."

PKN Catania Vol. 10 As we're sure you'll all agree, the venue of Convitto Nazionale M. Cutelli for PechaKucha Night in Catania Vol. 10 was an inspired one, providing an unforgettable setting for the evening's presentations. We include a few photos in this post, but there's more to see in this Flickr photoset. And please note that PKN Catania Vol. 11 is set for December 20 (but at a different venue). More...

Flyer for PKN Catania Vol. 10 Catania's PechaKucha Night Vol. 10 was held yesterday -- see who presented on the official event page -- but we still wanted to share this lovely flyer that was produced to help publicize the event.
