Christina Cho along with Kirstie Galloway and Luke Pendergast started PechaKucha Night Brisbane in their last year of Architecture School. 10 years on, 45 events, over 450 presenters, and 3 babies joining the gang, PechaKucha Brisbane is still going strong; bringing together diverse Creatives to learn, share, exchange ideas, and most importantly to inspire and be inspired. Collectively, PechaKucha Night and her practice in Architecture, Design and Making [Side Projects] keeps her curious and passionate to create opportunities to spread creative, cultural and collaborative dialogue.

In today's Presentation of the Day, "An Illustrator's Story" from PKN Brisbane Vol. 27, illustrator and designer Jo Fallon discusses how her English and Japanese heritage have influenced her creative work, and chronicles her development as an artist.

She also gives us some key advice as to why it's important to choose your business card designs carefully.

The event -- which is also the city's Vol. 21 -- will include a raffle, with all prizes coming from previous PKN Brisbane presenters. As the organizers tell us, it's "a weird and wonderful prize pool!" The poster was designed by Jacque Prior.

Flyer for PKN Brisbane Vol. 15

PechaKucha Night in Brisbane Vol. 15 happens tonight (March 24), at the always popular Brisbane Powerhouse (Turbine Platform). From the presenters listed on the flyer (above), it looks like a promising night of presentations -- here's hoping we get to find out what a web psychologist actually does! The evening will also be promoting the "PechaKucha for Haiti" reconstruction efforts.

Georgi Lewis

PechaKucha Night in Brisbane Vol. 13 happens tomorrow night (September 2), again at the beautiful Brisbane Powerhouse, and one of the presenters set to participate is designer Georgi Lewis. Pictured above, her latest work, a set of children's chairs and table cut form one single sheet of sustainable plywood -- everything fits together without the use of glue or screws.

PKN Brisbane Vol. 3

PechaKucha Night in Brisbane Vol. 11 is just around the corner -- tomorrow night, actually -- and as usual will be held at the Brisbane Powerhouse. This then gives us an excuse to show a photo of what looks like an amazing venue, taken during Vol. 3.
