Xandro proposes initiating a destination for graphic design education in the Blue Mountains, which would spark growth and cultural diversity.

In "Tick-tock Graphic Design" from PechaKucha Night York's Vol. 9 event, “Inspired: What Makes York’s Creative Minds Tick”, Tony Beresford chronologically charts the things that have inspired him and the project he has cut his teeth on as a graphic designer as he has grown over time, starting with toxic crayons, to comic books, to album covers, to magazines and beyond. 

This was "PechaKucha of the Day" on Thursday, November 26th, 2015.

One Poster A Day

On January 1st 2014, the German designer Marcel Häusler made the new year resolution to design a poster every day for a whole year. At first glance, not a hard task for an energetic graphic designer with a predilection for typography. To be inspired daily turned out to be an exciting challenge.

Every day, 365 days in a row, Marcel published his designs on the blog oneposteraday.com. After a full year the series interweaved with everyday personal experiences, contemporary issues and world news provides a colorful image of 2014.

From Abraham Lincoln to Richard Nixon to Barack Obama to the 2016 Presidential Candidates, El-Bahairy presents an analysis of the effectiveness of various graphic identities employed on campaign buttons, bumper stickers and logos. She even predicts some 2016 winners based on their logos...time will tell!
