PK People: Astrid Klein and Mark Dytham

This week's PechaKucha People spotlight lands on PechaKucha and KDa Architecture founders, Astrid Klein and Mark Dytham. Dedicated to Tokyo's creative class, these two have co-founded the innovative art festival in Tokyo, DESIGNART. They, along with over 70 local and international designers, will be hosting events in 70 different locations around Tokyo from October 16th to 22nd. Along with their hardworking team of All-star architects and designers, Astrid and Mark have diligently worked their way to the top of Tokyo's architecture and design platforms, making aspects of design and architecture available to all. Feel free to come and check out their work along with the amazing work of designers from around the world and be prepared to amazed!

This week's PechaKucha People spotlight reflects back on one of our brightest organizers, Sue Davis, of PKN Sunshine Coast, who just last week hosted their 23rd volume. Sue not only champions her community's talent through PechaKucha, but also as an educator, board member, and university deputy dean. It's no wonder Sunshine Coast has such a top-notching curations of presentations and presenters. Check the creativity coming out of Sunshine Coast.  

One of the newest members of the PechaKucha global family is Puerto Vallarta organizer, Paco Ojeda, who steals this week's PK People Spotlight for stepping up to the challenge of cultivating PechaKucha Nights on Mexico's Bahía de Banderas, Pacific Coast. With loads of experience in overseeing editorial content, and with presentations now online from his recently Vol. 1, we're confident PechaKucha is in good hands in Puerto Vallarta. Keep your eyes on this one for more good things to come! 

The PechaKucha People Spotlight lands on Queensland Emerging Architects Prize recipient and longtime PechaKucha Night Brisbane organizer, Christina Cho. As one of 20 architects profiled in Chasing the Sky: 20 Stories of Women in Architecture, she encapsulates how on-target our organizers are. And with PKN Brisbane's 50th Volume this week, we thought we'd go ahead and blast the PechaKucha Global Spotlight on Christina again, posing here with PechaKucha Founder Mark Dytham and Astrid Klein at PechaKucha annual organizer meetup in Tokyo. Well done Christina and PechaKucha Brisbane Team for all the amazingness! Here's to the next 50!!!

From guest speaker to PechaKucha Jakarta Organizer, Ridzki has put his talents in out on the PechaKucha stage, amazing many people along the way with his dedication in showcasing thought-provoking and impressive presentations in Jakarta. With 30 events under their belt, PechaKucha Jakarta and its organizers have shown that they have what it takes and continue to provoke others to think creatively. We blast the PechaKucha People Spotlight on John Taraborelli and Stephanie Caress, PKN Providence's co-organizers for hosting their ... wait for it ... 100TH PECHAKUCHA NIGHT! The first aside from Tokyo to do so in our global network of over 2000 organizers. Hats off to you two for continually hosting Providence's Coolest Party

This week's PechaKucha People spotlight lands on PechaKucha Night Kalamazoo organier, Marissa Kovatch, who "believes PechaKucha provides a significant opportunity for an emotional exchange as people share their passions and purpose."  She loves to unite people through her work and has seen the power of PK's concise platform for diverse storytelling to inspire others.  She was a founding city organizer in St. Joseph and recently kicked-off Volume 1 for PK Kalamazoo where she resides. When not PechaKucha-ing Marissa is a Principal designer & co-founder of Intersect Studio, a design & architecture firm enhancing the human condition daily through the creation of great places for people.

Big hats off to PechaKucha Night Batavia organizer George Scheetz and his rock-star team who never cease to impress in curating a vibrant line-up of presenters time and time again. Our weekly PechaKucha People feature highlights PechaKucha Night Kumamoto organizer, Yoshiharu Nakayama! As a Doctor, CEO, dedicated community organizer, Nakayama-san stands out for spearheading a number of inspiring initiatives, one aimed to eliminate the disparity of medical care between cities and rural areas, another focussed on community creation triggered by the 2011 East Japan great earthquake and the 2016 Kumamoto earthquakes, and more. Nakayama-san, it's a privilege to have such on-target people amongst the ranks!
