PechaKucha Event in Lonstrup
In this post you'll find a few photos (all taken by Mathies Brinkmann) from a recent PechaKucha event held in the city of Lonstrup. It was produced in partnership with the PechaKucha Night in Aalborg series, as a sort of ambassador program to bring PKN to that city. From what we hear, it was a clear hit, and there's a chance that a regular series might start up in Lonstrup now. There are more photos to see in this Flickr photoset, and here's a report from PKN Aalborg organizer Annette Scheibel.
The event in Lønstrup went so well, the small cinema was full of an enthusiastic audience (about 40-50 people, there's isn't room for more), and there were good, moving, thoughtfull presentations from local people.
I made a PechaKucha about PechaKucha, and the local people hosted the event beautifully, following the concept of the PechaKucha idea. There were really good and funny presentations about paleontology (birds in stones from the dinosaur era), the impact of advertising and the means on our daily life, a ceramic Danish-Walish lifestory put into art with the inspiration from nature present, nature also came through the painter from New Zealand's very personal poetic presentation, a Danish South African writer put her life story into 20X20 format with the help of her two grandchildren, and a graphic/ theatre technician tried to invent creative toys out of cardboard.
